Malaysian state-controlled energy company Petronas has disclosed extra information regarding its proposed three-well programme offshore Suriname, as it considers a potential integrated development using a floating liquefied natural gas solution.

Petronas in late 2024 agreed to charter the Noble Corporation semi-submersible rig Noble Developer to run exploration and appraisal work at Block 52 in the Guyana-Suriname basin, but back then the company did not provide details on the drilling campaign.

According to documents submitted to the country’s National Institute for Environment & Development (NIMOS), Petronas intends to begin the 257-day programme in June and run drilling operations in Block 52.
